Muar and Tangkak (was named Northern Muar and Ledamh) are famous for their natural attractions such as Gunung Ledang Waterfalls, Muar river fishing, mangrove coastal line, Parit Jawa bird watching, Nasuha Herb Park, Gersik Hot Springs, etc.

The documented history of Muar is believed older than Melaka. The tomb of Sultan Sultan Alauddin Riayat in Pagoh is only tomb from the Malacca Sultanate still survived from the destruction of war.

Muar with its multiracial population has several historic worshiping places for different religions such as Jamek Mosque, San Chai Chinese Temple and Hindu Snake Temple.

Tangkak district is one of the main durian producers in Malaysia for Musang King, Kunyit, etc. due to its hilly terrain farmland. A drove of durian addicts from Singapore and overseas join the visit durian orchard trip to taste the fresh durian.
